Abstract:

          Until recently women had received little attention
          from researchers in the field of alcoholism.
          empirical data have been accumulated in this new
          area of research.  The presentation will provide a
          summary of the pertinent literature and an overview
          of the problem.  The causes, needs, methods of
          treatment, as well as prevention of chemical,
          dependency in women will be discussed.
