The future: a dead end or new horizon? That's what will be debated in Sydney on 23 November.

The creative and the technological meet to debate and discuss the future as they see it, as part of a major
international congress (IMZ) being held at the Sheraton in the Park, Elizabeth Street, Sydney.

The discussion takes place between:

Harald Wilhelm, Head of New Media, EuroArts, Stuttgart

Peter Van Der Poll, Director of Philips Media, Asia Pacific

Daniel Petre, Director of Advanced Technology, Microsoft Asia Pacific

Masao Sugimoto, Pioneer Electronic Tokyo

Chaired by Bernd Hellthaler, Managing Director, Euroarts

The day includes demonstration of their latest developments and is a day that shouldn't be missed by anyone
online.

Cost is only $70 and you can buy tickets at the door.

WHAT IS THE IMZ CONGRESS?

IMZ is for the German Internationales Musikzentrum - International Music Centre, the body which
co-ordinates the interests of all those concerned with cultural programming in all electronic media -
broadcasters, key personnel from record and video companies, independent film producers, artists.

WHAT SESSIONS? The conference will tackle the complex issues of:

* in the age of satellites and the internet, interactive cables and international media companies, who is
responsible for culture in the electronic media
* do these new technological developments offer great opportunities to creative performers and artists?
* cultural imperialism
* the survival of indigenous culture
* how can artists determine the direction of content creation
* the future of the arts and its relationship with the media
