I have a post graduate student at our University who wants to contact the 
University of Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby.

He thinks they were to gain email access towards the end of 1992.

I would be most grateful for any advice regarding email access via AARNet.

There is certainly connectivity to PNG, though that goes to the
University of Technology, in Lae.  However, there also appears to
be some kind of connection from there to UPNG, or at least to the
geology department, which is the only part I have any evidence of
traffic to - try postmaster@upng.ac.pg (which is probably a bit
optomistic), or postmaster@geology.upng.ac.pg - or perhaps replace
"postmaster" by "root".
