We are still working on the implementation of the 768K link to the
States...
The problem right now is the provisioning of the tail loop from the
earth station to the NASA Ames facility. Attempts to complete this
circuit Tuesday evening were unsuccessful and the carrier made plans
to continue this work at 10:00 am Australian Eastern Standard time
today. The requirement for a daytime outage is in order to get the
appropriate expertise on line at the US end.
This outage is now to be postponed by 24 hours to allow the NASA folk
time to coordinate this outage with other effected sites within the
States, as 4 other circuits will need to be shutdown and retimed in
order to implement the Australian tail circuit (don't you just love
G.704 framing?).
Accordingly the scheduled outage Australia - US is for the period:
10:00 - 11:00 am Thursday March 18th Australian Eastern
Standard Time
