I have identified aus.archives as a defunct newsgroup, going by recent
traffic at this site (the University of Wollongong) and the archived
articles at DejaNews. The latter shows nothing but spam since October 23rd,
1997.

Therefore, as part of a general end-of-year cleanout of defunct aus.*
newsgroups, I propose to rmgroup aus.archives on or about January 9th,
unless rough consensus indicates that doing so would not be in the
interests of the group's readers.
