		    AUUG Canberra Chapter General Meeting
		    =====================================

The Canberra chapter of the AUUG are pleased to invite you to
participate in our series of monthly general meetings. Presentaions
will be made at these meetings on many Open Systems related topics such as
X-Windows, storage systems and electronic security. Each presentation will
be followed by an informal discussion where you can meet and talk to some
of the leading Open Systems professionals in the ACT region. So, if you want
to know more about Open Systems, or want to meet other people working in the
Open Systems arena, you can't afford to miss the AUUG Canberra Chapter
General Meetings.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday 9th March 1993, a presentation on
the X-Windows system will be made by Australian Technology Resource (ATR).

			"The X-Windows System"

		Date : Tuesday 9th March 1993
		Time : 7:30pm for 8:00pm
		Venue	: Australian technology Resources
			  Treavor Pearcey House, Traeger Court,
			  Fern Hill Technology Park,
			  Bruce, ACT.

What is X-windows? What is an X-Terminal anyway? How does X-windows
fit into current LAN workstation strategies? What are the benefits and/or
disadvantages of this technology? Even if you think you know the answers, you
should attend this AUUG meeting. You may be surprised.

AUUG, ATR and Labtam Australia will present a discussion on the
X-windows system, it's architecture, how it hangs together and what you
can do with it. This will be a hands on presentation where you'll be able to
inspect and try out several X based applications and hardware products.

The presentation will be followed by an informal meeting where you'll
be able to meet and talk to many of the top Open Systems professionals in the
ACT. Refreshments will be provided. See you there.
