I am looking for information about the upcoming
New Zealand Uniforum conference in May. I saw the date
marked in the login; calendar, but I haven't seen any
online announcements (I probably missed them).
If someone associated with the conference could send me
details, either via e-mail or via snail mail, I would
appreciate it.
My postal address is:

I guess the nearest snow field is Ruapehu, at least three hours drive away from Masterton. There are some redeeming features to Masterton, such as ......... ......... well anyway, its north of Wellington Brian Harmer

Masterton is on the south eastern portion of the North Island. About 1.5 hours drive NEfrom Wellington. Closest snow would be in the central NI (some few hours away). You should all go and visit the vineyards at Martinborough (probably 30 mins away). Then ask why Martinborough Rhine Riesling wasn't picked as the conference dinner wine :-). andy

It's a better place to live in than to visit perhaps. The Solway Park is a good conference venue though. Le Petit Cafe is a great little restaurant (at least it was a year ago). The Tararuas are close and are a great place to go in winter if you are a competent telemark/cross-country skier. If you want the synthetic, full service skiing experience then it is three hours to Ohakune. Tararuas are pretty good to go to if you want to tramp all year round. The Waiarapa coast is rugged and interesting. As someone else said, visit the vineyards in Martinborough. Don Mackie - his opinions.
