Prime Time Freeware (PTF) is a large, inexpensive collection of
UNIX-related freeware source code. This article describes how to obtain
the PTF CD-ROMS and an appendix is a Hierchical Package List of the key
packages included in this 3Gb collection. -johnj

Here is a summary of the issue; contact us (ptf@cfcl.com) for details:
1) Format: two (!) ISO-9660 CD-ROMs, bound into a 50+ page booklet.
Each disc contains around 1/2 GB of compressed archives, annotation
files, etc. The issue unpacks to around 3 GB (3000 megabytes).
2) Content: PTF is primarily a collection of UNIX-related freeware
source code. Binary files and support for non-UNIX platforms are
strictly incidental. There isn't room to list everything, but here
are some of the bigger items:

The PTF Buying Plan
Much as we would like to do so, we cannot offer a fixed-price subscription.
Put simply, there are too many unknown factors. Nonetheless, we would like
to retain customers from issue to issue, rewarding them for their support.
The PTF Buying Plan is our answer to this conundrum.
Under the plan, you authorize shipment of any and all PTF issues. Upon
receiving each issue, you have two weeks to try it out. If you like the
issue, just keep it. We will charge your credit card 70% of the list price,
plus taxes (if applicable) and S/H charges. Otherwise, return the issue in
reasonable condition and pay nothing.
Either of us (yourself or PTF) may cancel this agreement at any time.
Cancellation will keep future issues from being sent under the agreement,
but does not affect any transaction currently in progress. PTF may cancel
the agreement (i.e, stop sending issues) without notice. You must notify
us, however, so that we can take you off our distribution list.

This listing is divided into four loose columns. The right-hand column is
a list of directory names, sorted into alphabetical order. The left-hand
column is a short textual description of the contents of the directory. The
center two columns are, respectively, the approximate size of the directory,
in compressed kilobytes, and a key to its type (Package or Topic). Please
note that the sizes for Topic directories include the sizes of all subsidiary
directories.
