I have a client who has hit a brick wall.He has a Yamaha 24-8-4 CDROM. It came with software from Adaptec. It was version 4.0. He then updated to windows 2000 from Windows 98. The Adaptec site confirms that version 4.02 is needed for Windows 2000. He can download the patch to bring it to version 4.02, but it requires that version 4.0 is installed. When he tries to install version 4.0 it claims he does not have the right version of explorer. He cannot remove explorer from windows 2000, so is stuck. Is there anyone out there that has come across this problem? If any of you have the CDROM lite version that is at version 4.02, I would be delighted to find a copy in my mailer..... hint hint... Or is there a solution to the problem? Adaptec is of no use, and as of two weeks ago, I have yet to hear from Yamaha. From the Desk of Mike Stephen Micro$oft has performed an illegal operation, and will be shut down.
