run system test on adaptec. also make sure you have at least 1 gig for the
temp file that it uses and burn at a slower rate. i initially had problems
but found that every now and then running the system/read write test and
making sure that i had a large enough partition or space on the hard drive
of 1 gigabyte and all problems solved. never had a problem since. several
more thoughts: 1. always ensure that power management of hard drives is
turned off. 2. shut off/disable any virus check programs and disable all
taskbar items and finally make sure screensave etc disabled.
