(I am new to these newsgroups so apologize when message not in its place here)

Hello,

I have a TEAC CD-writer. How can I find out WHEN a CD was written ?
The file attributes such as size and date are of course the same.
But how can I find out WHEN the CD as a whole was written ?
Hope my question is clear enough.
Please reply directly to verduyn@tech.chem.ethz.ch (as well as to the news-
group of course).
Many thanks in advance,
regards,

 Marcel Verduyn

If it was a ISO-9660 layout you built yourself then it is wrote in the
ISO-9660 header and program like CDR-Diagnosis can show it to you.
If it was a copy of another CD then it is impossible because it contains
the creation date of the original disk as stored in it's ISO-9660 header

It depends also on 3 things. When the cd was made there are 3 choices
for
dating the disc. option in cd creator. 1. files original date 2. The
date
the disc was made 3. Date you pick.
So it depends on what choice the person picked when they made the disc.

BUT there is other information in the ISO-9660 headers, such as
publisher name, creation data and expiration date. That's nothing
to have with the three option you saw in ECDC :)

Just an extract from CDR-Diagnosis for Powersoft PowerDesigner disK:

With ECDC you have access (R/W or RO) to some part of that header only.

To have complete description of ISO-9660 see:
http://www.y-adagio.com/public/standards/std_lst.htm

You will find here the full ISO-9660 standard.
