I can tell you from experience that this is by far the best idea:  Call
up Trans World Lines (or Norwegian equivalent) and get yourself a 120-
gallon cardboard shipping crate (ask for a #16 corrugated crate, they
cost next to nothing).  One week before the ship sails, climb inside,
and have a friend drive to the docks and deliver the crate of "fragile
goods".  Try to sleep as much as you can.  In only three months or so
you'll be in Oz!

Having used this method extensively to travel round south-east Asia and
the Caribbean, I can say this really is the best value transport around.
Make sure you take adequate food and water with you in the crate.
