In reference to an earlier post regarding the quality of the latest Verbatim CD's I must agree that they are of extremely poor quality. They carry the brand name "Verbatim Datalife" (not Datalife Plus). I have never had trouble with previous Verbatim disks so I ran a little utility called CDR Media Code Identifier which displays the manufacturing company and the dyes used on the disk. Guess what! these new ones are made by CMC Magnetics Corp using completely different dyes to the Datalife Plus which are made by Mitsubishi Chemicals Corp. I used 2 disks out of a box of 10 and decided not to use anymore so I cut my losses and bought a 10 pack of TDK dig-it disks...........................you know what is coming don't you? Yes, the TDK dig-it disks are identical to the Verbatim Datalife, same manufacturer, same dye etc. I now have 18 drink coasters. Too many cheap and nasty disks on the market because people won't pay a little more for quality.
