| The problem is how to set it to be the same for the place where the
| program is run? how to get the locale to be the same as the computer
| which the program is running on??
| What I have so far....
|
| TimeZone tz = TimeZone.getDefault();
| Calendar rightNow = Calendar.getInstance(tz);
| System.out.println("ID:" + tz.getID()+" HOUR_OF_DAY: "
| + rightNow.get(
| Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY ));
|
| and i get this under jdk1.1.7 in linux
|
| ID:EST HOUR_OF_DAY: 17
|
| but if I get the REAL time/date of my linux box by typing 'date' in
| console...i get
| Sat May 22 07:13:52 EST 1999
|
| Which is a BIG difference...the timezone is correct, but hour is still
| not. :(
Did you try using Locale.getDefault() for your timezone etc?
