Greetings Victorian Java Jugglers...
I look forward to seeing you at our
next meeting this coming Thursday...
When?
6:30pm, Thursday 31 August 2000
Where?
Lecture Theatre 1, SEECS Building,
Level B1, (Basement, southern end)
207 Bouverie Street, Carlton, VIC, 3053.
Presentations...
"Cryptography, the JCE, and the Bouncy Castle."
by David Hook
Since the JCE came out there have been two
interesting streams of development in the
areas of Java and Cryptography.
The first is the efforts of vendors to
integrate secure hardware with the JCE API,
the second is the availability of the KVM and
the use of Java on small devices. With this is
mind the talk will provide a quick review of
the JCE 1.3 and some of the new features added
to support hardware and also a look at a light
weight cryptography API designed for use on
small devices.
Other business
Hopefully there will be a giveaway this month!
And remember to join the group for pizza and
beer afterwards (where the real meeting happens :)
