To all,
I must apologise to Sun, for my pessimistic view of the continuation of the
Sydney Java user group, (admittedly born of frustration). Sun have responded
to my request very promptly. Apparently the meetings are still held the last
Wednesday of the month, however they are now at Sun's offices on Berry
Street, North Sydney (www.whitepages.com.au says this is at: Level 5/33
Berry Street, phone: 9466 9400). I'm not sure of the time though.

For those that don't wish to subscribe to Yahoo, could I request that Sun
also post SJUG events to this newsgroup (aus.computers.java). It would only
have to be one a month a couple of weeks before, just to confirm the
meeting, time, topic, guest speaker, etc. The problem with the Yahoo
approach is that people have to know that it is there, whereas they will
much more likely find aus.computers.java if they are looking or just
browsing.

Hey - http://www.ajug.org.au/sjug is back up. Of course, it is still
showing the next meeting to be 03/07/2002 and the meeting address it reports
is now wrong (the old Novell address).

In the spirit of giving something back - if a volunteer is needed to
maintain the SJUG web site and/or post the meeting details to this
newsgroup, I would be happy to do it. I can't promise that the web site
would be too flash, but I can promise that it would always be up-to-date.
Anyhow, I'm not sure who is currently responsible for the web site, but if
they want me to do it, perhaps they could post a reply.

Sincerely,
Andrew Jens.
