Hi, Yes as cannon says you can get RedHat 6.1 for about $20 at your newsagents. Its called the APC Linux Pocket Book I think. This also comes with Caldera Openlinux (2.3). Yes the upgrade to glibc affects almost everything. There is a howto on how to do it though so you may want to look at it. With respect to Caldera, it sounds like it may not the right distro for you because its aimed mainly at the newbie market. Thus an install without X is practically impossible, and use as a server system is also more difficult than RedHat. However use as a desktop box is good. Also on installation it may not pick up your network card so you will may have to do this manually, and you can forget about scanning your hard disk for badblocks at install time. (I have to coz of crap hardware). I have not used many other distro's but I want to try Slackware, Suse and Debian in that order.
