Is there a method that can change the look and disable the function of
a Button?
I need it for disabling some of the buttons during runtime, when their
functions is not available for the user. It should be eazy, it's done all
the time in most applications..

buttonObject.setEnabled(false);

That will disable the button ... change false to true to re-enable it.

just type in your code :
 if  (myCommand == something) {
myButton.setEnabled(false);
}
