g'day all I'm just having trouble getting javascripts to work on Internet Explorer (version 6). When I'm visiting websites links that are suppose to open in new windows don't work, and things like discussion boards don't work. They work fine in Opera. Now I've downloaded sun java, installed it.. and still having this trouble. I recently downloaded windows xp service pack 1, could there be a problem there? Thanks for reading Dave

It is the responsibility of the browser (IE6) to read Javascript. Check your browser's security settings, and your antivirus/firewall settings -- most of these now disable scripting, and if you have any pop-up blockers, etc installed. Joshua King

Excellent thank you for the help Joshua. It turns out to be a program I installed recently, Warnet - in an attempt to remove this annoying links toolbar in IE. The program was set to disable pop-ups. Hello all, I am in the first phases of learning Java. Are there any "excellent" free websites out there that will provide me help. I also have to write a program that has a GUI.. I need a source that will help me to do this successfully. Thanks. C -- "Life is too short, to say, I will do it later or tomorrow. It's also available in books (printed). Joshua King
