Java on Windows XP Pro SP2

Hi

I met this confusor store owner today as I'm looking for a new confusor
later this year. He made the claim that Java won't run properly (or not
at all) on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2. Mind you he confused Java with
Javasript so I went away thinking he didn't know what he was talking about.

Has anybody had any problems with running Java on Windows XP Pro SP2?
I've used Java based programs on PC's with Windows XP Pro SP2 on it,
with the Windows XP firewall turned off.

Thanks

Sounds like you got the right impression.
I installed Java on XP and SP2 without any problems.
The only issue I noticed is that ZP associates .jar files with its
automatic zip folder system rather than Java. Double clicking a .jar
opens it for viewing by default. When I installed the JRE it fixed it
up.
