Hi there, I'm more from the networking side of things, so forgive me if I'm not 100% clear on this, but one of our programmers (they use JBase, a type of Java environment) has asked if there is a way to force a DLL (that he is fairly constantly modifying) out of memory so that it can be reloaded complete with changes. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this without exiting the application completely or without having to reboot the machine after every mod? Thanks in advance, Andrew.

You might be able to get away with it by making up a new classloader and loading the class with that. But getting the rest of the app to use the appropriate class might be a minor hassle. If the class in the DLL is used via an interface, you could make up a proxy. But this doesn't solve your real problem - which is making Windows unload the damn DLL. You might make it load the class fresh, but the class might still use the same DLL, so you haven't accomplished much. don't really know enough about JNI to help.
