I am very frustrating with the exixting voice mail service that I have. As
a programmer I decided to make my own, that way I can customize it to my own
needs. I want to write an aswering machine program that reads in the caller
id and based on that might play a customized message for each recognized
caller. Secondly, I would like to be able to check my messages from any
phone, assume I dial my number and then press pound or any other key, or
combination of keys. I would also like to be able to add multiple mailboxes
on this system, ie multiple users, capable of checking their messages.
Further functionality, assuming I run a web server on my computer I would
like to be able to check my messages from any computer that is linked to the
web and is capable of palying sounds.

I would appreciate any help on this matter. Is there an api available for
interfacing with the phone line from Javam, or how would on go about doing
this.

TIA. Mario
