Hi

I am based in Sydney, Australia. I have been involved in two successful

software publishing ventures. www.ezbooks.com.au is the latest. I have
found partners over
the internet who are skilled in a language and collaborated with them to
create a software
package. I have the design, marketing and opportunity spotting
capacity, they have the
practical experience in a language. Don't get me wrong I have
programmed in Java but only at
Uni level. It would take me months to do what an experience programmer
can do in days.

I want to create a product called ScreenMagic. It will be an applet
that when delivered will
change all the screen setting on windows 98 (and hopefully 95 and
2000). Noises, wallpaper,
screensaver, mouse pointer, etc.

So now you know the idea, why work with me? We'll the world is full of
software sitting on its
author's computer. Many people can write it but few can market it. I
have.

If you are interested email me!

Stephen

You sign the applet and ask for permission. Have you ever had a window pop
up with "this applet wants to write to your had disk. Do you want to let
it?". Like that.

However, seing as this is windoze specific, you'll wind up using MS Java
extensions to talk to COM objects, and if you are going to do that you may
as well just use an activex control hooked into some Javascript. It's
native.

But having this on a website, so there is a central place with all the
themes which you can flick though online, is a neat idea.

How do you propose to get an *applet* to do that? An applet runs in a
sandbox and can't create files or open sockets locally, and certainly can't
use JNI.
