I don't. Dropped out and got a job C programming.

Sad to see that such nationalism exists where you come from.

Lighten up dude! Don't you recognise an obvious troll when you see one? For
heaven's sake. At least I didn't tell her that she might as well become a
prostitute for a living, or anything like that. Sheesh.

geeez when u ask a question u expect an answer or even close to it, i cant
believe how narrow minded some people are!!! just once i would like to see
that people dont have to take things out of proportion!!!
all i can say is that some ppl need to get a life!!!!
and i respect ross's answer its true i should learn by doing it myself!!

Stating that "...girls are no good at computers." is a pretty bold
statement when you consider its generally accepted the first computer
programmer was a woman (Ada Simpson) and it was a woman who thought of
and developed the first compiler (Can't remember her name - from
memory she was working for the US navy at the time).

If all the women in computing at your uni managed to get all you guys
to do their work all I can say is good on them and to all of you who
did the work I'd say you have been sucked in by your antiquated
misconceptions of "poor helpless females".

For your employers sake, I hope you have a more open mind when dealing
with programming issues than you do when dealing with social ones.

I thought her name was Ada Lovelace? Was I mis-informed at school?

Ada *Lovelace* and Admiral Grace Hopper. I don't think COBOL was the first
compiled language though.

I thought it was fortran - someone wrote a routine that would TRANslate
FORmulas unto machine code.
