Java IDE's

We are looking at developing java servlets for an ecommerce project that we
are involved in.

We currently have a demo-copy of JBuilder (Professional). We are aware that
the Enterprise version can actually test/debug servlets within, but are not
too concerned about not having this feature.

Before we purchase Jbuilder, we would like to know what other IDE's are
available which support servlets, that are comparable, or better, to
Jbuilder.

Your comments would be much appreciated.

Stavros.

Give IBM's VisualAge for Java a test drive. They have a free entry-level
edition that you can download. We use the enterprise edition and it is very
nice.

Simplicity Professional has a good Servlet composer. It's very
helpful if you want to test them on several operating systems.

Threre's a demo copy at:

If you use a pure Java web server then even foundation will allow you to
debug servlets.

If you don't want to pop for the Enterprise level you can down load a copy
of Tomcat and execute it within VA java. I don't have the info in front of
me but you can can get it from the Apache site.
