console/dos type applications.

for example if i did this for the heading of my program

System.out.println("Welcome to my program");

how could i get it to print in say green?

To the best of my knowledge, java is very limited in what can be done at

command prompt.so in short, i believe it's impossible to do so. please
prove me wrong, and email me if i am. 8-)
here is the JAVA API

Hmm, cool, but i don't think that games in java.
besides i just had a very good look at the API for you.

out as in Systam.out, is static of type PrintStream. now have a look through
PrintStream,
and you will see that there are plenty of print() methods, but none of which
that could do
what OhOh! does. i would think that program is done in C or something similar.

Have you tried ANSI escape sequences?
