I installed Red Hat 5.2 a few days ago, and I know that I need to re-compile my kernel with PPP and sound support. Apparently Red Hat comes with the kernel source. I changed to /usr/src/linux/ (where the source is supposed to be) and typed "make config" All I got was an error message: make:*** No rule to make target 'config'. Stop. I have read the KERNEL and PPP HOWTOs, MAN MAKE, and even Josh's Linux Guide ( http://www.local.net/~jgo/LinuxGuide/index.html ). Am I even on the right track? Is there a step by step guide to this for newbies ?
