Okay, I have the parallel cable, and the boxes are connected.  When I
start the pentium linux box the error message is PLIP timout (1,87)
which repeats!  On the 486 side, the RedHat installation procedure is
able to contact the pentium, but only to send mail (!) in which it
claims to be a change of ethernet address (?!).  Gosh this is fun!

Imagine I'm an idiot (not too hard if you know me) - what do I type in
the boxes to get this installation going?

Any help gratefully implemented!
