Depends on whether D is a primary partition or an extended one.
Basically get rid of D, and make sure all you have left is the C partition
with win 95 on it, and the rest as FREE SPACE.
Linux should, everything else being equal, create a second primary partition
called BOOT, (23Mb), and a logical partition called / . Depending on system
memory, a third partition will be created to host your swap drive.
You should then have hda1 - win 95
hda2 - Linux Boot
hda5 - Linux /
hda6 - Linux swap ?
I presume the CDrom is as a slave on the first IDE channel, and thus hdb.
If the CD rom is on the second IDE channel as master, then it is hdc. Hdd
is then the slave on the second channel.
SCSI in entirely another matter, and not gone into here.
If this info does not help, then post a response detailing your pc's
hardware. Others reading the posts may recognise the machine and help.
Best of luck
Louis
These comments assume you are installing Red Hat 5.2 workstation default.
Other installs will need comments from others.
