I had similar problems at odd times with my ISP, sometimes dial in straight through, at other times timeout, I ended up using the kppp terminal window to see exactly what was happening, it turns out my server was waiting for a request choice of ppp, slip, terminal. so I added the Expect selection and then send ppp to my script and I havn't had a glitch or timeout since. hope this helps dAz
