Buzzing mice?

Hello,

Like many others I have recently installed RH5.2 from the APC pocketbook.
With great success. They are to be congratulated! And I thought I had
finished with Unix.

There is one minor quirk (/feature?): something in the computer makes a
buzzing noize whenever the mouse is moved. This doesn't happen in Windows
on the same machine. Is the mouse location being continually updated to
the hard drive or what, does anyone know? Can it be turned off? gpm -k
turns off the console mouse (and hence buzz), but it comes back in X.

Thanks,
Brett McSweeney
