Hi all, > >However when running the command "startx" I get the error message: > >"Tried /root/XF86config > /etc/XF86config > /usr/X11R6/lib/X11........ > /usr/X11R6/lib/....etc, etc" > >"No config file found" The problem has been sorted out - for some reason or another when I ran Xconfigurator there was no Config file being written even though Xconfigurator probed and found my video card. To resolve the problem I ran XF86Setup, made a few guesses and presto, it created a Config file in the /etc directory. Now when I run "startx" I get the required result. Now I need to learn how to change the screen resolution and the number of colours (256, High Colour, etc). Thank you all for your suggestions and advice. Cheers, John
