Does the Epson EPL-3000 handle say PCL?

If so.. pbmtools and GhostScript have facilities to output in
HP Laserjet format.. (Which I've found most laser printers support)

You can actually setup lpr to Automagically detect a Post Script document
and process it thought GhostScript to Laserjet format for you on the fly.
