I am having trouble setting up a uucp login to a site successfully running uucp accounts to other sites and we are out of ideas. We have read the Howto and Network Admin. Guide and can find no answers to our problem. The problem appears to be that when logging to the remote machine it finds the login prompt OK but gets hooked up on the echo of the login and timeouts when looking for the password prompt. We are running the Linux Slackware 3.0 distribution with the Taylor UUCP 1.05 package that comes with Slackware 3.0 with the HDB config files. The destination system is a SCO Unix 5.0.2 server (already part of an extensive uucp network). I have included a copy of the command line that I'm trying to use, config files and a portion of the audit.local log file. (Naturally the host, domain, login, password and phone number stuff are not what is actually used.) Thanks in advance Craig craig@mu.com.au command line /usr/lib/uucp/uucico -r1 -Shost -x11 /usr/lib/uucp/hdb_config/Devices ACU /dev/cua1 - 19200 mae288 /usr/lib/uucp/hdb_config/Dialers mae288 =,-, "" ATZ OK ATDT\T CONNECT /usr/lib/uucp/hdb_config/Systems host Any ACU 19200 55556666 ogin:--ogin: nuucp word: uucppwd /var/spool/uucp/.Admin/audit.local uucp - (10/2-15:21:17,828,0) DEBUG: Forked; old PID 827, new pid 828 uucp host (10/2-15:21:17,828,0) DEBUG: fconn_open: Opening port ACU (speed 19200) uucp host (10/2-15:21:17,828,0) Calling system host (port cua1) uucp host (10/2-15:21:17,828,0) DEBUG: fcsend: Writing "ATZ\r" uucp host (10/2-15:21:17,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Looking for 2 "OK" uucp host (10/2-15:21:17,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Got "ATZ\r\r\nOK" (found it) uucp host (10/2-15:21:19,828,0) DEBUG: fcsend: Writing "ATDT" \T "55556666\r" uucp host (10/2-15:21:19,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Looking for 7 "CONNECT" uucp host (10/2-15:21:19,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Got "\r\nATDT55556666\r\r\nCONNECT" (found it) uucp host (10/2-15:21:38,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Looking for 5 "ogin:" uucp host (10/2-15:21:38,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Got " 19200\r\n\r\r\nSCO OpenServer(TM) Release 5 (host.domain" uucp host (10/2-15:21:39,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Got "u) (tty003m)\r\n\r\r\r\nhost!login:" (found it) uucp host (10/2-15:21:39,828,0) DEBUG: fcsend: Writing "nuucp\r" uucp host (10/2-15:21:39,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Looking for 5 "word:" uucp host (10/2-15:21:39,828,0) DEBUG: icexpect: Got " nuucp\r\n" (timed out) uucp host (10/2-15:21:49,828,0) ERROR: Timed out in chat script uucp host (10/2-15:21:49,828,0) DEBUG: fconn_close: Closing connection uucp host (10/2-15:21:52,828,0) DEBUG: Call failed: 3 (LOGIN FAILED) uucp host (10/2-15:21:52,829,0) DEBUG: Forked; old PID 828, new pid 829 uucp - (10/2-15:21:52,830,0) DEBUG: Forked; old PID 829, new pid 830 uucp - (10/2-15:21:52,830,0) DEBUG: Forking /usr/lib/uucp/uuxqt -shost
