Sorry for this beginner question and apologise if it has come up many
times. I am getting confused by various linux and variants from a
multitude of sources. Are there net based resources that gives a
comparison of various linux versions?

Eventually I'll try to put some DCE/CORBA stuff on it, but at this
moment I am on step 0, and hopefully I don't have to mess with lots of
recompiles, setups, in order to get there :)

TIA for your information and help.
