David Goh residing at davidg@pc166.cae.com.au blessed us with: : The Sound card presumably has a IDE port on it. It is probable that : this is configured to be the "tertiary" IDE port. By default SB-16's and Vibra16's that are PnP are set up as the quarternary controller (ie. seventh and eighth IDE drives), the actual port is E-IDE BTW. : There's a number of possible solutions, from upgrading your kernel to : a 2.0.x kernel, which supports the tertiary and quaternary IDE ports, ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Other earlier versions support the tertiary and quarternary ports as well.
