I have this drive and had a similar problem with linux using a ISA sound blaster card with the IDE interface. The problem I had was that linux will NOT autodetect an IDE device on an interface if it is configured as a slave and there is no master. So if this is so, either configure the drive as master or boot linux with the lilo parameter 'hdd=cdrom' (assuming the IDE I/F is at the ide secondary address) I've heard somewhere that windows 95 has problems with the CD if configured as master, I don't know if this is true. -- brian wallis...
