During the boot sequence the operating system tells me that it cannot detect the CDROM. from reading some of the news itms on this NG, I suspect I will have to give a command in the boot up sequence by re-configuring LILO. My CDROM is "slaved" to my Hard disk (I think it is refferd to as /dev/hdb) and is a Creative CD420E. When I next boot up Linux I will note, in more detail, which version of linux I am Running (installed from CD1 in the book 'Using Linux' 2nd Ed by Tacket and Gunter) and what error messages. if email reply reply to rodc@terrigal.net.au TIA (muchly) Rod Cheshire
