The LN-03 comes in two models. One is the ScriptWriter model which supports level 1 Postscript and has about 35 fonts built in. This should be identified clearly on the test page that prints when you start the printer. If it's not a ScriptWriter you can use Ghostscript to create binary files to send the printer. You don't need a filter to print to the ScriptWriter model if you are sending postscript output. Just set it up as a serial or parallel printer (follow the Printing HOWTO) and send a small postscript file to it. Get the printuser howto if you need to find out how to use the printing commands lpr, lpq, lprm, etc. Or you can use minicom to talk directly to the printer in serial mode. You will receve an Abode prompt. Trevor Young Australian Public Access Network Association trevor_young@darcy.apana.org.au
