The kernel compiled : fine, no errors. : The system boots fine with the new kernel, but upon boot I get the message: : Cyclom driver $Revision: 1.36.3.7 $$Date: 1996/04/19 21:06:18 $ : Cyclom-Y/ISA found at 0xd4000 but the IRQ could not be detected. : Any help / advice would be most appreciated. From linux/Documentation/Changes: Cyclades Serial Driver ====================== The Cyclades driver has been changed so that the minor numbers start at 0 instead of 32 (ie: ttyC0 should be major 19, minor 0 in the 2.0.x kernels while it used to be major 19, minor 32 in the older kernels). You can use mknod to manually fix this or use a newer version of MAKEDEV. does that constitute help/advice? JP
