I got it working fine when I tried. I didn't use their boot disk though; I've got my own kernel that I know works with my hardware. I ran loadlin vmlinuz root=200 ramdisk=1440 then inserted the liveram disk, and it booted fine (once I remembered to put the live filesystem CD in the drive). Since XFree doesn't like my video card, I didn't try that, however I did run a couple of commands (cd, ls, ifconfig, route, telnet) then thought "okay, it works, but what use is this?" and tried to reboot back into normal linux. shutdown, reboot, halt, and alt-ctrl-del all didn't work (they said they were going to shut down, then did nothing). My reset button worked fine, however. The live CD itself has a bit of documentation in /README, which basically just gives instructions on how to create the appropriate disks (boot, liveimg, and perhaps home). There's a slight buglet in the README though; it says "...you need a boot disk...and a ramdisk image... you can use the mkfloppies.pl script in the images subdirectory on your Red Hat Installation CD to do this." But, the mkfloppies.pl script will only create the boot disk, not the live ramdisk image. Regards, -- Geoffrey D.
