XF86Config for Tseng-labs ET4000-w32p

Hi,

I have 2 linux boxes with Tseng-labs ET4000-w32p PCI video cards, with
2MB RAM.

I can get these to work OK with X_SVGA, except I can't get a
video mode above 800x600,
but when I use the accelerated server with this card, all I get is a
black screen.

I'm using the X11R6 that came with the Yggdrasil Linux Internet Archives
Winter 1995... (November?)

I thought these cards were well supported - according to XF86 howto?

As the boxes need an X display, and will only be used for one dedicated
function, I can live with SVGA generic but would like to see 1024x768
or 1280x1024 with 256 colours at the very least.

16 or 32 Bpp is not necessary.

Does anyone have an XF86Config for this card, or can steer me to getting
it to do what I want?

I explored the various news archives, and while I came up with several
messages, most of them were asking for the same thing as me.

My Monitor is a "shamrock" 15" digital non-interlaced with Power saver
functions (anyone heard of these?)

We have dozens of them at work, and they work OK on windows,
but I need these cards && monitors to work on X!

Thanks

rachel
