It depends.  Proper implementations of vacation check the Precedence header to
make sure it's not "bulk" (as mailing lists should be) before replying.
Unfortunately some mailing lists aren't doing this, but i'm not sure how many
of these there are...

Someone's written a very good vacation-style thing that works with procmail -
if anybody's interested, email me and i'll dig up the address to email for it.
