Tonight I took out my old 200MB hard drive and put in an 850 MB hard drive, and I also took out my 1.2MB floppy drive. I left my 1.44MB drive in. I tried to boot linux off my linux boot disk. The first bit loaded ok, and then it prompted for the root disk. I put it in and then I got this error message "perpendicular drive not supported FDC" or something like that. anyone know what's wrong?? My floppy drive is sideways, but I've never had trouble with it before. I've booted off linux floppy tons of times. DOS isn't having any trouble with the floppy drive. any help appreciated -- Simon (simc@mundil.cs.mu.oz.au)
