Hi.

I have the RedHat CDrom but I cannot get the bootdisk
to recognise my creative labs cdrom which is attached
to my soundcard. So I copied the files to my scsi HD
and installed from one partition to another.

I did not install all the files. How can I now
selectively install various applications (for instance
just PERL). I do not know how the RPMs have been
compressed so I cannot uncompress them...

Secondly, how can I get Linux to recognise my soundcard
and cdrom...I had to use my bootdisk which did not
detect them because it was the only one which would
detect my aha2940 scsi card.

thanx
