actually i have an EIDE controller but an old bios. It doesn't depend on
the controller. I have used a special program for that but it was very
very hard to get it out of my master boot block. even with fdisk /mbr
it was not possible. i used a formated disk and booted it from this disk
and then fdisk from the disk and it worked. so you can see that  these kind
of software isnt that nice at all.
anyway, if you want your pc to run with the harddisk you have toi look
for such a program.
