My computer has a VLBus EIDE controller. My CD-ROM sits on my second IDE port, off the controller card. My BIOS doesn't support the second port; for DOS I use a driver supplied with the card. With no driver, the CD-ROM drive isn't recognised by the system. The uncached card uses an Atronics 2015PL chip. According to the Linux hardware HOW-TO document, this chip is not supported; it simply isn't mentioned. The supplier's bulletin board has no Linux driver, and so far they haven't responsed to my email about this. I have heard that Linux can be booted from DOS. Will this solve my problem? Or what else can I do? Does anyone use a 2015 board with Linux? Thanks, Tim Richardson. -- Tim Richardson, ter@sydney.dialix.oz.au or ter@syd.origin.com.au Phone/Voice mail: (Mobile) 018 863 899 or +61 18 863 899 Please wake me for meals.
