Linux & three (E)IDE ports??

I've just rearranged my machine, putting my CD back on the SB16 card which
is configured as the fourth IDE port.

My Pentium system has two HDDs and is about to get a third (& possibly a
fourth currently installed in another machine).

My docs say this is not a supported Linux configuration, but IS on the list
of things being done.

Does anyone know what progress is being made?

I'd appreciate email copies of replies as I spend most of my time in the OS/2
groups.

Cheers
