Help with JPEG and Zgv

Hi
I have compiled Zgv V2.6 and as per instructions compiled V5
of JPEG prior to compiling Zgv.
I get the dreaded "Segmentation fault" when I start Zgv.
There were no errors during compilation of JPEG and Zgv.
I am using Slackware 2.3 with the Linux 1.2.8 Kernel.
I am running the seejpg command line program with no
problems.
Can anybody help please.
