Hi world! I need some help on a kernel upgrade...
Recently, I have upgraded from kernel 1.2.13 to pre2.0.10, I have noticed
the messages shown on the last section of this news...
For your information I have done the following:
. upgrading the gcc to 2.7.2
. upgrading the binutils to 2.6.0.14
. upgrading the libc to 5.3.12
. upgrading the libg++ to 2.7.1.4 (for the first 4, I only decompressed
the sources files that I downloaded from the sunsite)
. make config (I have noticed the 'make menuconfig' doesn't seem to work
properly, don't know about 'make xconfig' thou)
. make dep ; make clean (no error)
. make zlilo (no error)
. make modules
. make modules_install (I have this message thou: ls: *.o: No such file
or directory)
Another thing is that, I remembered a nice person told me about the move
of the utmp and wtmp files during the transistion from 1.2.13 to 1.3.XX,
unfortunately, I forgot where to, can someone please tell me again?
Any idea? Please help...
Cheers,
William
P.S. reply by email would be greatly appreciated.
